We will be looking for reviews on air guns, air rifles and air pistols from all the major manufacturers such as weihrauch and the lesser known ones such as norica air rifles. Firstly just to clarify the uk law on air guns we have the facts as at the time of writing (nov 2004) on the current uk law on air guns. Most air guns available are well within the legal limits for power.

Air Guns UK Law

• It is an offence to have an air weapon (whether loaded or not) in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse.
  
  
• It is an offence to have an imitation firearm in a public place without lawful authority or reasonable excuse. 
  
  The minimum age for the possession of an air weapon is 17 years, except:
  
  
• A person under the age of 17 may possess an air weapon as long as they are supervised by a person over the age of 21. Where the air weapon is being fired under supervision on premises, this exemption will only apply as long as no missile is fired beyond the boundary of those premises.
  
  
• A person under the age of 17 may possess an air weapon while engaged in activities connected with target practice, as a member of an approved rifle club or miniature rifle club or while using the air weapon at a shooting gallery.
  
  
• A person over the age of 14 may possess an air weapon on private premises where they have the consent of the occupier to have an air weapon with them.  This exemption will only apply as long as no missile is fired beyond the boundary of those premises.  
  
  
• It is an offence to sell or give an air weapon or air weapon ammunition to a person under the age of 17 unless it is to a person over 14 in the circumstances described above on private premises.
  
  
• Self-contained air cartridge guns are now banned.

What are BB Guns and Airsoft Guns? BB Guns or Airsoft Guns are scale replicas of actual guns manufactured by such famous names as Colt, Smith & Wesson, Walther and Sig Sauer. Apart from some smaller pocket models they are 1:1 scale replicas. Manufactured mostly in plastic and high impact ABS resin (some with metal components) airsoft guns are accurate in detail to that of actual official firearm models. What are airsoft guns or bb guns?
